This week is all about consumer Drones. Oh the possibilities from filming to surveying and everything in between. Remember to keep away from airports and other areas where restrictions apply.

Syma X5C – This drone is perfect for beginners and has the price point to reflect it. 7 minute flight time and 100 minute recharge means not a lot of action but for 60 dollars this is the best option to start you off in the world of drones.

DJI SPARK – Once you’ve dipped your toes in the Drone pool so to speak its time to put some skin in the game. DJI really dominates in all aspects and price points for drones and the SPARK is there lowest priced option. Features include a 16 minute flight time on a full charge, 50 KM/H top speed, built in 12 mega pixel camera and Various per-programmed flight paths.

DJI MAVIC PRO – As the price point rises so to do the capabilities. The MAVIC PRO boasts a 27 minute flight time, 7 KM control range and a top speed of 65 KM/H. Using the FlightAutonomy capabilities you can fly up to 36 KM/H while avoiding obstacles.

PHANTOM 4 PRO – Quick stats of the PHANTOM 4 PRO are a 30 minute flight time, 7 KM control range, 72 KM/H top speed and obstacle sensing in 5 directions. More detailed features however include:

DRAW – Way point control that allows the operator to draw a route on screen and have the drone follow it with a locked altitude.

ACTIVETRACK – Active Track allows the drone to recognize and follow a subject in a variety of ways, making filming easier

TAPFLY- Tap anywhere on the screen and have your drone fly there

DJI INSPIRE 2 – There is a popular misconception that when you spend more you get a better product or service. that is not always the case, HOWEVER in the Drone world that is absolutely TRUE

The INSPIRE 2 is the first Drone to combine HD video transmission, 360 degree rotating gimbal and a 4K camera. It reaches top speeds of 94 KM/H and a descent speed of 9 m/s. The increased speed also comes with a revised FlightAutonomy and multiple intelligent flight modes
